$3K Reward Offered for Hero in Case of Missing Andrews Woman. Crystal Gail Soles. About time ..

Someone could receive $3,000 cash, no questions asked, if he or she has information that lead police to find Crystal Soles, who has been missing from Andrews since Jan. 24, 2005.
The reward is being offered by the Community United Effort Center for Missing Persons, known as the CUE Center. It has not been determined how long the reward will be offered.
"It's time for someone to step up and be a hero for this family and for the Town of Andrews," said Monica Caison, founder of the CUE Center, who has been assisting the Soles family since the beginning. "I know in my heart there is somebody who has good information and on behalf of the family, enough is enough."
She said anyone who has information about the case can remain anonymous to the public. There is an application on Crystal Soles page on the CUE Center website, www.ncmissingpersons.org, or people can call the Andrews Police Department.
"Tips to the CUE Center are turned in to law enforcement, but law enforcement will not release their information," Caison said. "To claim the reward, you have to share who you are with us and the police."
Caison said even though it has been more than 13 years since Crystal disappeared, she knows the case can be solved. She said Crystal's mother, Gail Soles, has never given up hope.
"I've seen 30-year cases resolved when someone finally came forward with information," she said. "For Gail, it would mean so much. Through it all, I don't know how she smiles all the time. She has been kicked in the teeth and knocked in the dirt, but she is not giving up and that is a testament to her love for her family."
Gail Soles said she is encouraged that the CUE Center has offered a new reward for information about her daughter's whereabouts. She said she has been busy putting out flyers about the reward around town and hopes it gives someone the incentive to tell the truth.
"I wish they would come forward, I really hope so," she said. "Somebody does know something and I know people out there really do care. It's been a long 13 years and we need closure and justice for Crystal."
She said she is planning a walk for Crystal in Georgetown in April or May. She is also going to the CUE Center's national conference in Wilmington, North Carolina, from March 15-18.
"I love that event. It helps you get your strength and hope back because you meet so many families," she said. "The CUE Center is such a great organization and I'm so glad to be part of it."
Caison said if people want to register to attend the national conference or to find more information, they can visit the CUE Center's website. There is no charge for the event, but people must pay for lodging.
Andrews Mayor Frank McClary could not be reached for comment by press time. In January, he said he is dedicated to finding Crystal.
"I know it’s a cold case, but anything that anyone can bring that gives us a lead, we will act on it," McClary said. "That is my commitment to (Mrs. Soles) and anyone else who is in a situation like this."
At the time, the mayor said he had read through all of the police reports from 13 years ago to date, and is working with Andrews Police Chief Marc Whitfield to learn more about assistance from other law enforcement agencies. He said he is hopeful that by revisiting the case something will emerge that will lead to answers about Crystal's disappearance.
"Wherever any new leads direct us is where we are going to go," McClary said. "We encourage people to come forward with any information they might have. If we treat it as if it were one of our own loved ones who is missing, we will do the right thing for this family."

Daughter Disappears On A Cold January Day
It was a cold January 2005 day in Andrews, S.C., when Crystal Soles called her father for a ride home. He was in failing health and was unable to pick her up. Crystal assured her father it was not a problem and told him she would walk home. "That's OK Dad; I will walk" are the last words her loved ones have heard from her in more than five years.
No one knows what happened to Crystal. There have been multiple searches, but no trace of her has ever been found. The CUE Center for Missing Persons has also helped in the search. Earlier this year, Crystal's case became the 10 of diamonds in a deck of cards produced by Effective Playing Cards and distributed in prisons and jails. The playing cards have led to the arrest and conviction of previously unsolved murder cases.
As a family member says, "people in this community knew her and what happened; it breaks my heart as they just go about their lives. All we ask is to get Crystal back and for final answers."
